MARCH 11 - MONDAY

2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV)

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Ephesians 1:18-23  (NIV)

18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Today, we will pray for God to take captive any fear, shame, anxiety, depression, doubt, hopelessness, lies about yourself, self-deprecating thoughts, and feelings of worthlessness or purposelessness that you have.  These are never from God.  In Christ, we have power over the devil, his lies and deceit.  If you have never prayed this way, it may feel strange.  This type of prayer must be said aloud.  So, find a time/location where this is possible.  The shower may be a good place.  Pray this prayer over each feeling or thought that you have been experiencing.  Use this prayer as regularly as you need to combat these lies when they face you.
Lord, I confess that I have allowed voices of  (name the feeling, thought) to fill my mind instead of the truth that I know in you.  I thank you for your forgiveness and I ask that you renew my mind in the truth of Christ Jesus.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
